I've got a 2007 5234D and no issues. Have had a ball pushing snow in MI winter. The earlier 5000 series had some issues when introduced in 04....(although I had an 04, never any issues with mine) but I believe you're safe with a 06 or 07. This is the last generation Cub before the introduction of the new Cub/Yanmar machines in 08. I had a loader on my 04, and it'll do loader work but don't overdo it, as I believe it's not built for heavy/consistent loader work. My 07 is used for mowing, blowing and blading, it starts right up in the winter, and runs out strong. Didn't even have to chain it up this winter, the ag tires and 4wd worked great in quite a bit of snow. 6500 is OK for tractor only, I'd be willing to bet you could get it cheaper. Good luck!
