Anyone have any idea how much a Cub Cadet 2072 is worth? It has a 50" deck and 20 HP. It has about 1500 hours and I believe it is a 1985 (within a year or two).

IT'S WORTH ABOUT 3,000 AROUND HERE IF IT'S
IN EXCELLANT SHAPE. I'D BUY ONE IF I COULD
FIND ONE THAT ISN'T ALL BEAT-UP /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought a 2072 new in 1988. It now has 2000 plus hours. It is a very good super garden tractor. I have had very little trouble with it over the years. As far as price I am interested also. I know I paid @6500 cash in 88 for it. I would think a good condition unit would be worth 2500 to 3000. 2072's have a lot of good features. e-mail me if you need more info about 2072's.

I traded it in and got $2500. Did not think this was too bad considering the condition. About 2 years ago my dad rolled it down a 25' embankment (45 degree slope). Tractor has lots of dents and my dad broke his fibula and tibula in two. Layed him up for about a year. Then 2 weeks before a traded it in he got it stuck at my brother-in-laws farm. He decided to get off and give it a little power and push it from the side. Well he slipped and push the throttle all the way up and it took off. About 50' later it was stopped by a stone foundation. It twisted the the frontend pretty bad. Dad has had all tractor priviledges revoked and just watches now. But $2500 for a trade. Pretty good I think. I was sad to see it go. Lots of memories.

That was a great trade in for all the dents and scratches. My dad was known to roll the farmall 140 every now and then. Thankfully he was never hurt bad. What did you get to replace the 2072?

A Cub Cadet 7265. I absolutely love it. It is quite a machine for only 26 HP. I have a lot of work to do on my new property (4.5 acres). I guess I really can't call it work. It is just to much fun.

Great, I know you will enjoy it. Hmm! Been thinking that is a good trade in. Maybe I should think about upgrading.
