CUB CADET 12 HP

DOES A 12 HP KOHLER K301 FROM A 129 HYDRO FIT A 125 HYDRO TRACTOR. BOTH ARE CUB CADETS. WHATS DIFFERENT?

I had a 12 hp Kohler installed in a 109. It was the only engine other than another 10 hp that fit the tractor mounting bolt pattern. I suspect that the 125 is going to have a different pattern for the engine mounts, possibly different attachment of the driveshaft, carb location/linkage, and a lot of other details. You can probably do it, but it won't just be a drop-in job.

If my old memory serves me right I swaped a 301 from a 124 to a 126 a number of years ago. I think most of the old cadets in the 120 series used the 301 engine.
