my ct230 hood wont release when knob is pulled.

how do I get the hood open ?

On my CT235 you have to push down on the hood while pulling REALLY hard on the knob before it will release the hood.

Tried that the knob shaft is showing about half inch

I had the same thing going on when I first tried to open my hood, then I did what Bigass did.
Then this spring I sprayed the whole assembly with Fluid Film, and now do not even need to hold down on it

Try pushing a little harder, it can be a little tricky until you get the hang of it

It is water creating corrision in the cable. You just need to lube the crap out of it. Mine sticks too. Sometimes when water gets in during the winter.

I agree with pushing it down while pulling the knob.

WD40 is the cat's meow when it comes to stuck cables.

New tractors are almost always stiff as heck. But be sure to go over it with a fine toothed wrench at 8 hours to tighten up stuff that's worked loose.

I've got 20 hours on mine so far. Happy as a clam.
