Cruise control & Speed match

Have a question on the new ten series eHydro that have cruise control and speed match. Are these dealer installed items or does the tractor come from the factory with these options?

Mine came with the speed match from the factory

Not sure, but I'd have to guess that, given the electronics involved, they would be factory only. The J.D. Product Configurator prices them instead of saying "Contact Dealer", so I think that reinforces the thought that they are a factory item.

I ordered them both as factory installed for the 4310.

I have been working with a dealer on a 4310. He has one in stock without cruise and speed. He says he can order the units and install them at the dealership. I called John Deere and they said it can be added in the field. I want this tractor to be perfect as I will probably only buy new this one time. Any thoughts?

According to the new 36 page booklet on the new 4x10 series that just came out, when you order a new 4x10 series tractor with eHydro cruise control is a standard factory install...speed match is an optional factory or dealer install that you would have to separately order(page 17).

I have been reading the different posts and from what I understand cruise is part of the eHydro. The options are the automotive type cruise and you have to have this to order the speed match. They are both shown as options on the configure area in the John Deere website. I am concerned about the dealer install vrs ordering it from the factory with these options.

CRUISE CONTROL IS STANDARD ON E HYDRO MACHINES. AS FOR SPEED MATCH AND AUTO CRUISE THESE ARE BOTH DEALER INSTALLED. THE WIREING HARNESS IS ALREADY THERE FROM THE FACTORY ALL THE DEALER HAS TO DO IS PUT IN THE SWITCHES.

From what I understand, there are five controls that one can get with eHydro. MotionMatch, LoadMatch, and Cruise Control (On/off) come standard as a factory install when you order a tractor with eHydro. What isn't standard are SpeedMatch (Preset maximum speed) and CruiseControl Upgrade (Accel/decel/resume). These latter two have to be ordered as optional add-ons. Talk to your dealer. I'm not sure if these latter two can be factory installed or if they have to be dealer installed. As far as I can tell, the JD configurator is right; they are options. I recall when I was shopping for my 4710, one dealer did tell me that if I wanted these latter two, they could be installed as a field conversion....not a big deal. I wouldn't be too concerned having the dealer do this...I don't think it's a big install, especially if you feel comfortable with the dealer and have confidence he knows what he's doing.

Thanks for the info. The thing I find amazing is that you sometimes have to educate sales people at the dealerships on what options are available, ie. telescoping draft links. I have learned tons from information placed on this board. Guess if I owned a dealership a requirement would be to have my sales people monitor this site to gain valuable info about a product they are trying to sell. Have ordered a 4310.
