I'm going through the service manual and I see a few references to

Mode "K" (HSTPedal,RangeShiftLever,CruiseControlLever,HST Response Dial, Fine-adjustment Mode)

including a "Cruise Control Release Switch" in the wiring diagram.

Does anybody know what thats about? Is it possible to have cruise control on the HST or does cruise control have a different meaning to kubota?

My Grand HST+ has a cruise control on it stock. It's a drive by wire setup for HST+ so trivial to impliment. My old L3200 didn't have cruise control, think there might have been an option for that. Other manufactures have a system that will engage teeth or a clamp to hold the pedal in place for HST cruise control.

Not sure if your machine is drive by wire or mechanical linkage. I suspect drive by wire.

Which model and year tractor do you have? I'm going to talk with my dealer and it's easier if I come in with a part number already...

The HST pedal is drive by wire. It would be really sweet if I could add cruise control just by plugging into the existing wiring harness - the wiring diagram shows inputs for cruise control.

I have a L4060hstc these days. All the Grands Lxx60hst machines come with cruise standard I'm pretty sure. Not sure what that means for similar generation TBLs though.

It's going to be the case of "IF" kubota left the cruise "enabled" in the ECU in your tractor, or if it was a factory option, if the dealer says no, it may be because it wasn't offered in your model, however that may not be a definite no, as it may have been offered in a different market, and if it was left enabled if you may be able to add the switches. So if your dealer says no, you would then need to find someone with a machine that you could persuade with some beer to let you unbolt their switches and plug them into your machine to test.
Good luck!

I confess that I've never looked at that HST+ system on the M59 in detail. But here's some more info. It seems probable that the HST pedal has to do a couple of things when it is moved. For one thing, it has to somehow send a message to the swash plate in the HST tranny so that the plate will move in response to how far the pedal is depressed and in which direction.... and it has to also change the engine revs to match the needs of the swashplate.

I don't know how the pedal sends the message to the swashplate - it might be by an electrical positioning wire or by a mechanical linkage. But I do know that the engine revs are controlled by the HST+ pedal pulling on a spring-loaded stranded wire under the deck that looks a lot like a motorcycle brake cable. That stranded wire works in parallel with a similar stranded tension wire on the hand throttle control on the dashboard up by your right hand. Both can turn the same drum which revs the engine. When that throttle wire on my HST+ pedal broke, I was able to continue working by using the HST foot pedal to control the transmission and the hand throttle to control the engine speed. So there is some duplication of function. See the thread: M59 Breakdown and Repair.
Hope this helps,
rScotty

I'm pretty sure all the pedal sensors just get routed into the computer, then the computer drives the swash plate. Much less hackable unless you reverse engineer the firmware on the computer.
