Is there anyway I can get an after market/dealer installed cruise control for either one of these models or can I just jamm a stick betwen the seat and the pedal like they do in the movies when they send some dead/ tied up guy off a cliff? I have narrowed my choice down to these two. I still have not decided which model I want but thats a whole diffferent post.

My b7500hst came with cruise control. I have about 21 hours on it and while I have not used the cruise much it does seem to work.

The B7500 comes standard with cruise control. It just locks the HST pedal in the position you set it. Does not work in reverse (don't know why you'd want to anyway). It is the little orange lever next to the parking brake lock lever. Haven't used mine, can't tell you if it is good or bad.

Hope this helps.

Is there a way to get cruise on the bx2200, if there is not then I guess that would make me lean toward spending the extra $$ and get the B7500.

Scottie,

To quote a friend of mine "Anything can be made". The cruise control on the B7500 is dirt simple. It's a toothed plate that holds the HST pedal in position (forward only). Rigging something like this up for the BX shouldn't be rocket science, but it might require an aptitude in mechanical engineering.... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

If that were the only deciding factor between the BX and B7500, I'd go for the BX. Cruise control isn't worth that much.

I have to agree with Glueguy--there are some good reasons depending on your particular needs to purchase a BX instead of a 7500 or vice versa but cruise control is not one of them. The pedal is so light, at least to me, I can mow for hours with NO-NO-NO fatigue. I think a tach would be more useful but again it is an item that is easily done without and would not sway my opinion--if you need a stable tractor that is durable and manuverable the BX is it with or without a cruise thingy. Cruise control will not prevent you from flipping down a hill on 7500 nor does it have any effect on the 7500 being a larger more powerful tractor for FEL and blade work with more ground clearence for in the rough work. Next time I test drive the BX I take a closer look at the rigging on the B7500, to see how I could transfer that same or close to same mechanism to the bx. Thanks for all your input, like alot of people I am new to tractors and I want to make a good decision before I plunk down all that cash.

I have a BX1800 and my neighbor has a B2710, when I was shopping I thought cruise might be an issue. I ask my neighbor who cuts about 8-10 acres if he ever used his, he tried it a couple of times and found he could never find a happy medium for ground speed and he went faster going straight than he cared to go while turning. I bought the BX and have cut about 6 acres in one day and didn't miss not having cruise. I wouldn't base my desision on a tractor purchase based on cruise or no cruise, that is unless you have to mow a half mile long straight away before you turn the corner.

I agree with the others. I have had a B7100 for 3 years and have 7 acres to mow. I have never used the cruise control since the day the tractor arrived exept when I tested it to see if it worked. I don't think it should be a make or break decision point.

Good luck with your decision.

PS I just went throught the BX/B7500 decision making process and went B7500. I don't have any hills to worry about and I wanted the ground clearance and bigger FEL.

I had cruise control on my BX2200 for awhile -- then I took it in for service and had the dealer fix it./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
