Tractor
Cat D3, Deere 110 TLB, Kubota BX23 and L3800 and RTV900 with restored 1948 Deere M, 1949 Farmall Cub, 1953 Ford Jubliee and 1957 Ford 740 Row Crop, Craftsman Mower, Deere 350C Dozer 50 assorted vehicles from 1905 to 2006
I'm on the West Coast and was curious what it would cost to ship a Farmall A from the East Coast... PA to CA.

Got lots of quotes with U-Ship providing the bulk...

Quotes ranged from $3300 to $3900 for 2,800 miles

I have had cars shipped East Coast to California and never paid more than half that...

Never having shipped a restored and running small tractor I mistakenly thought it would be similar to an equivalent car...

When I moved from Virginia to California in 2013 I went through the same process for shipping my B21. Ended up buying a 20ft PJ equipment trailer for a bit less than the cost of shipping and towed it myself across country. Sold it for a few hundred dollars less than I paid.

That is crazy pricing!
Is there a season when price might be lower?
Cars from Florida to the Northeast can be close to $1000 in May, but can drop to $600 for a return trip the same month.

For some reason yet explained the quotes are all for inside a semi vs a standard auto transport?

I would think a small tractor that is restored and running would be perfect for auto transport...

Stay tuned.

Find a good car shipping broker. We shipped all kinds of collector cars and tractors we bought all over the country. A good broker can get this done. If you are going somewhere off the main freeways it can get more expensive. I am near Portland OR and the most expensive car shipping was from N.Chicago.

No... within a mile of the freeway... so no issues there.

Any broker recommendations?

Just search for a car shipping broker on Google.
After that....stand by...
They will bombard you, asking what you are willing to pay for the job.

I guess I need to put a price out there and see what comes back...

Getting one on Google is pot luck and will drive you crazy. Talk to someone at a local car lot the buys a lot of cars from the auction and maybe sells cars on line. They will know someone. I will pm you someone I use.
