I had my mind made up that I was going to get a KKII TG-60 tiller at my nearest TSC store. This store came up on the KK site so I called them and they now carry County Line. It looks like the KKII as far as what a picture will tell you. Does KK make the CL and is it alright? Would I just be getting a KKII under a different label? I did a TBN search on the subject and found so many different versions I'm totally confused. Has anybody bought a CL tiller and do they like it? Is it as good as the KKII? Thanks

Unless there is a fluke, this will not be a King Kutter tiller. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply KKR. I've seen alot of posts say that when they looked at the County Line tillers they have a KK manual with them and you can get parts for them from KK. Some say they are made by Tarter but it all depends on where you live. The closeset dealer is Seaford, Delaware that shows up on the KK website but they carry CL. Even tho others have stated that County Line is made by KK because the manuals say KK you say they are not? Please set me straight and someone needs to update the KK website also to reflect the correct stores that carry KK produts. How can I find a store that carries the KK brand? I'm sold on them if I can find a dealer close by. You don't know how disappointed I was to learn that the local TSC store doesn't carry the KKII.

It depends on where you live, as to what company makes the County Line products that your store carries.

Any King Kutter items sold in TSC's have the County Line brand on them.

At the current time, Finish Mowers at TSC's in your part of the world are made by us. That is why your local TSC's are shown as dealers.

As you're sold on the KKII Tillers, one of the advertisers here on TBN is a King Kutter dealer. Everythingattachments.com. Give them a ring.

I'll have to go to the TSC store and see who makes their CL products. I have checked out the website you mentioned and they do carry the model I'm looking for. I've never bought something like this and had it shipped to me. I've always been able to see it in person so this would be something new for me to try. I'll let you know what I find out.

Now you guys have me wondering what I bought from TSC. They look the same by the pics on the two websites.. where do you look for the differences?

Take a picture of the serial number / barcode area. I can tell you if it's a King Kutter from that.

Thanks, it's under a bit of snow right now. Are there visual differences? Mine looks just like both pics..

Is there possibly 1 manufacturer making these and selling the same tillers to different distributors? We sell the Tarter Brand. Ken Sweet

It may be a Tarter made tiller. They look a lot like the KK line and are all gear drive tillers. Make sure the pto shafts are not black and made in China. Some of the KK tillers got out last year with some cheap black china made shafts. Make sure the shafts are the Italy made.

As they have copied our equipment pretty closely in the past, I doubt it. I've not yet seen one of tarter's tillers in person, so for me, the easy way to tell the difference is by checking the s/n tag b/c they look different.

Just my 2 cents but I bought a CL tiller from TSC last year and I am very happy with it. It looks to be very well made and the heavy duty tines do a great job in my rocky soil. TSC had a sale when I bought mine so I got a pretty good price at the time.

Most of the TSC equipment in my area is made by Tarter. Some is Hawkline too. You can tell by looking for the small serial number tag, as it has the actual manufacturer on it. All the TSC CL tillers are Tarter around here and they do not impress me. Maybe they are making a lower end line to sell to TSC.

Thanks for the tip on Chinese drive shafts.....

My 72" KK2 has the china slip clutch and drive shaft its a year old this month knock on wood that's worked fine so far and been a good tiller. I have other issues with it but not with that yet.
