Could it be the wrong hydraulic filter?

I have a Deutz Allis 5215. Had a problem with the 3 point hitch not raising. I changed the fluid and filter and it worked fine for a few days then it stopped raising at all. The old filter was an Agco. I took that part number to NAPA and they crossed it to a Wix 333390. The Wix filter said fuel filter on it. I questioned the parts person about that and and he double checked the part number and said that was right. I disconnected the high pressure line under the pump placed a bucket under it and started the tractor. Fluid was barely coming out. I'm thinking this is the wrong filter and the SAE 80 gear oil will not flow thru the Wix filter. I have since ordered a Fram P7572 hydraulic filter and am waiting on delivery. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

I'm working on one right now. I well check and see what is on it. Are you sure about the sae 80 oil? Is it a manual shift or hst?

Its the syncro shift 4WD not the HST. I have the user guide right in front of me. It says transmission and differential including hydraulic system SAE 80W GL-3 or GL-4. Capacity 17.5 qts which is exactly what it took to fill it. Couldn't find GL3 or 4. GL5 was all I could get. The Fram filter came today and the box said fuel filter on it. If this dosen't work I'll try AGCO. What kind of hydraulic filter does the one you're working on have? I just bought this thing about six weeks ago and the hydraulics worked when I test drove it but stopped working after about 3 hours of use. After the filter and fluid change same thing. It worked for about 2 hours. Now it wont lift again.

I looked at them but couldn't see any name or #. It looks like they have never been changed. I well try one more time after I clean them. The reason I'm saying them is because it has 2, 1 pointing up and the other pointing fwd.
I know one is HST and the other is HYD, but don't know the one just for the HYD. I'll let you know what one I can read.

If you go to the Wix filter look up site,it calls for a Wix 51210. This spin on filter has a wire screen filter media.You have to look under Allis to find the 5215.

Well after 1 hours work I got it!!!!!! It's a agco 72100796

And that Agco number crosses over to a Wix 51210,on the Wix site.

What # did you take to Napa the 1st time? Barry 1 has double check it so I think your good to go.

The AGCO filter I took off and cross referenced at NAPA was a 72100796 so the Wix 333390 probably isn't right. I don't think the Fram P7572 filter is going to work either. It might work for an hour or to but I think the heavy fluid won't pass thru. I'll try AGCO or the different Wix number. Hopefully I'll have a good tractor after this is resolved. Also the 4wd syncro only has one spin on filter on the return side of the hydraulic line. Just looked at the Wix 51210 filter on there web site i believe wire mesh is the right one . The 333390 and the Fram P7572 are paper filters. Thanks for the info.

If you look on the NAPA filter cross reference site, and put in 72100796, it crosses to a NAPA 1210.It is wire mesh also.Your Napa store screwed up,and owes you a refund!
