Costing me a bundle!

Well I did it--- traded in my almost new JD325 for a BX2200. It should arrive in a day or two. I just hope it lives up to everything you guys say because when my wife saw the invoice she said if I could afford to spend that much on a lawn mower then she was buying the new car she's wanted. So all together my new BX is costing me $38,000.

My wife "conned" me in to taking her on a cruise when I bought my L3710 - she just booked it for next spring - cost me about $1400 for the cruise tickets and with some out of pocket maybe $2500 total - I came out like a bandit!!!

Oh I agree with the wife thing for sure. I try to explain that this is not something for me this is to run the place with. I mean it's kind of like if you go out and buy a new air conditioner then the wife should go spend the same amount on jewelry or something. Yep mine does the same thing but I don't understand the logic either.

New car, cruise, jewelry. I have always told my wife I need the right tools to do the job. Now when she wants to buy something I get, "I need the right tool for the job". So what you all are telling me is to buy the tractor and the implements, and the . . . before a wife comes along. City girl I'm dating thinks anything with more than 3 square feet of lawn is a ranch and if you can't chuck a rock through your neighbors window from your porch, you live in the sticks. She is not likely to understand the need of a tractor.

My sister-in-law (grew up in seattle now lives in LA) told me that everytime they come to visit se feel like she is driving into the Blair witch Project. I have 8 acres on a lake only 3-4 of them are wooded and my neighbors are within shouting distance if they are outside /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I should make out like a bandit. In past 8 months, we got married, had two vacations, bought a new car for her and she said I did well for her birthday and christmas. We bought a lot I have been clearing with a rental, she agreed it would be cheaper to buy then continue renting and she said "its your turn anyway".

Heck Farmerbob, decision is made. She is a sweet girl, but . . . Actually I about have a place bought, and the tractor won't be far behind. With any luck I'll have the tractor and some implements while only my dog and I are the voting constituency. If it sends her back to the city, I'll still have a tractor to comfort me, and I probably didn't loose much anyway.
