Cost of 50 hour service

What have some of you been paying for the 50 hour service? Mine is the TC 40D. I will be taking it in next week---just wondering.

My filters and fluids came to about $130, and I wasn't charged any labor.

I heard some dealers{<font color=orange>Kubota<font color=orange><font color=black>} don't charge for the basic 50 hour service,and they come to your home..and my dealer still offer this package only on new tractors,but between you and me..I think we pay for it one way or another. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

My tractor is in the shop right now getting the 50hr service, so I'll know in a few days how much it will cost. My dealer is a Kubota & New Holland dealer. The salesman made a statement that I kind of ignored due to believability. He said they do an entire fluid change was part of their set-up, so the 50hr service wasn't really required.

Changing fluids as a part of set-up would be beneficial to catch any debris from the manufacturing process. However, but the 50 hr fluid change is to catch the debris from the initial break-in process. Like you, I don't see where doing the former eliminates the need to do the latter.

The labor cost did include blade sharpening. I assume the cost of the grease was in the shop supplies number.

I did have little extra work performed, I had a bar welded across the bottom of my MMM deck to prevent me from scalping on uneven ground.

Dave, my dealer started quoting me similar prices, so I ended up doing most of the work myself, and just got them to fix some warranty items andgive the tractor (TC40D) a general once over. By the way, why did they change the hydraulic fluid? That's not in NH's recommendation I didn't think. Also, I see you're using the F200 fluid. Why, and what do you know about it? I'm thinking of switching at the 300 hr mark.

I tend to be a little more cautious than most, so when the cold weather issue came up for Class II Boomers, I figured I would get the F200 oil at the next service rather than wait. When I ran my tractor at 20 degrees, I had some hydraulic whine until the tractor was good and warmed up. It looks like we are going to have a cold winter even down here in MD, so I went ahead and had it changed. It cost a few more $$$, but I have one less thing to worry about.
