The local dealer doesn't have the 2320 for us to look at. The brochures make it seem like a more appealing tractor. Larger tires, drive over mower deck, cruise standard, standard 3pt hitch. Any other differences? Anybody know what the cost difference is?

If memory serves it's about $10,750 list for the 2305 and about $12,900 for the 2320. The 2350 is over $15K list.

These are just for the tractor - no attachments.

I just ordered a 2320. It was about 2k more than a 2305.

I liked the position control feature and higher ground clearance of the 2320. My mowing will be mostly with a rear rotary cutter and thought these features were worth the extra money.

What is the "position control feature"? There are a couple of things by brother-in-law doesn't like about the 2305. One is the ground clearance and the transmission filter position. The other is the "limited" hitch on the 2305. The problem is that although the Deere is a superior machine to the Bx Kubota, the Kubota is a couple hundred cheaper and has a standard 3pt hitch. An extra 2k is a big jump to get a standard hitch and some ground clearance is a lot of money.

Cord,

Position control is the type of 3 point hitch draft control on the tractor. In other words, to position an implement on the 3 point hitch at a certain height, you simply move the lever to the desired location (the control has numerical settings). This is easily repeatable and accurate. The 2305 John Deere does not have this feature. To get the implement to the desired height you basically go bye eyesight. You can get pretty good at it, but not nearly as easy. The Kubota BX series has 1/4 valve which moves the three point hitch in 1/4 increments. It is a little better than the standard draft control on the 2305 but not as nice as the position control feature.

The position control feature is found on most larger tractors and is very handy for my situation.

Also, the BX series Kubota's and John Deere 2305 are both limited category 1 hitch's. It is the height restrictions of the machine that effects this. I'm not sure why, but I've read a couple posts stating the BX has a full category 1 hitch, (not true it is limited).

Both the 2305 and bx Kubota's are nice machines though. I was strongly considering 1 and was leaning towrds the Kubota myself until the 2320 came along. It has all the features I wanted and the ergonomics are second to none in it's class. It was worth more in my book than the similar sized Kubota B7610.

The one thing that we noticed is that the Deere 2305 hitch is at 12" above grade and the Bx Kubota is 16". The pto shaft is also higher. I figured this was the "limited" part of the hitch. Thanks for the explanation of the position control.

I would like to have the position control. I'm getting pretty good without it, but it would be nice to have. The limited part of the 3 point has not limited me at all so far. The extra height of the 2320 would limit me greatly. I'm already having height issues with my barn loft and while mowing with the ROPS.
