Loose hose clamps. Common issue with the 5e series. The guy downplayed it for a reason, ain't a big deal.

Re getting to the dealer.

I had a Nuffield 465 before my M7040 and the guys on the British tractor forum were always going for road runs as a group.

Now, when I need my Kubota at our cottage, I take an early Sunday morning drive with the AC purring and some tunes on the radio.

An hour and a half at around 24 kph or 15 mph. It takes me less time than it would to find someone to trailer it when I want it done.

I remember some story of a guy who traveled across the USA with a John Deere garden tractor and a skinny trailer for sleeping in.

Just be glad you are not having to ride a horse! It is amazing the things you notice at 15 mph that you never see at 70 mph.

In the manual it says to check all hose clamps at the 50 hour mark. Just found a stripped hose clamp on mine at 125hrs, rear of motor on a line going to the cab. The clamp was either stripped at the factory or when the dealership put on the front end loader.
