As a kid, I was all over construction equipment when they parked it for the night or weekend. It was a huge bonus, if they had left something up and I could slowly "pretend operation" by lowering it.

Great link. As you said much of it still applies today. Perhaps it's just because the film is from a different era. Yet it seemed more graphic and less sugar coated than the carictures we see on safety films today.

The narrator sounded very familiar. I couldn't find his name in the credits. Did anyone recognize him?

Wow, thanks for finding that Industrial Toys. I was actually just thinking about these two days ago!! LOL.

Many years ago, I can't remember if it was the forestry or mining company I was hauling for, got a guy to come in and renew all our WHMIS and safety certificates and he had a bunch of these Cat videos we watched.

He had ones showing them flipping these big machines off cliffs, and showing them sliding down banks and dirt piles showing their limits before they would actually fail.

I was wishing I could see them again, just to see the cool old machinery. Thanks for finding.

Golly; I can recall seeing all those machines at work on some of the job sites I was on.

All the issues shown had standard operating procedures required by the company I worked for. Of interest the fastest braking would happen when the operator dropped his bucket, blade etc. And was normal operating procedure for some situations.
