I have a plugger which uses a 3 pt hitch that I would like to have the option of hooking it to an ATV or a truck. Since atv and trucks have a ball type adapter, I would need the complimenting female part on the implement. Is there a ball cup adapter which fits the three point attachement on the implement which would allow me to do this?

Thank you

How will you lift it from the ground for transportation?

I would use the 3pt to move it from place to place. Once I have it where I want it, I would prefer not use the 3pt hitch since it does not allow the implement to stay even with the ground. The implement stays even with the tractor, which I do not want. I also want the ability to make tighter turns with the plugger on the ground which the 3pt hitch does not allow.

Not sure you would gain much from what you want. But you could move the aerator with the 3PH and when you get it where you want just disconnect it from the 3PH and put a A-frame on the 3PH with a square receiver - they are very common. Then you could use it with the tractor. Like this:

But you said that you wanted to use it on an ATV or truck. That will require that you weld a female trailer hook-up to the implement. Tractor Supply has them. You'll have to engineer / fab it yourself to keep it from snapping off. Even then, hooking it up to a truck or ATV will be a nightmare unless you put a trailer jack on it as well.

Aerators do not like turns under any conditions. Even ones with independent spoon wheels will tear up a lawn on turns. I used to have a cheap Sears aerator with a pull-type pin hitch and it made a mess when turning.

The best way to deal with it is to make straight passes and lift the aerator at the end of the pass and then spin around for the next pass.

Edit: Oh, and for staying level with the ground just put the 3PH all the way down so it is in "float". Then it will move up and down with the terrain.

I think the OP means float left/right. What I've done to resolve is replace one of the three-point arms (the segment that lifts the "lift arm") with a segment if chain. This allows that side to float up/down as necessary. Comes in handy when moving snow with a blade.
