Convert a hand hydro to foot hydro?

I saw a thread on the opposite...but not on hand to foot conversion. Is it possible on something like a JD 332? I'd like a garden tractor and prefer diesel, but I'd consider gas too. I really don't want a hand controlled hydro, so I was thinking I had to go with something like 425, 445, or 455. I like those models, but it looks like parts can be pretty pricey. The 300 series parts seem more abundant in the used arena. So could I just convert a 300 series to foot control, or would I just be wasting my time and should just go with one that is made that way?

i would like to say yes you can convert anything if you just use your head and just start making stuff from nothing or have everything machined the way you want it, i would make everything from car board, metal wire, and wood and then make out of the good stuff
