The local dealer has one he wants to move, and it is in the size range that I think I am looking for.
Primary duty will be snow removal with rear 3 point snowblower, probably 5' or 5.5 foot.
Secondary duties will be landscaping (short term) and garden prep and pasture maintenance longer term.
From the threads posted here it seems like there are several pleased owners, with few reported problems.

I like the extra options for reverse speeds compared to gear drive Kubotas, since I'll be using the snowblower.

Price is $17200 with FEL, 60" pin on bucket, block heater, and loaded tires, plus tax. Thoughts?

One of my concerns is the elimination or redesign of the 15XX series.
Will parts availability be a problem when something breaks many years from now?

I doubt you will have any problems with parts. The only reason they stopped making the 1500 series is because of tier iv emissions. I bought a 1529 back in the spring and am very happy with it so far.
