My Ryobi Expand-it power head just gave up the ghost. Never liked that engine; now it's dead. Still have the string trimmer and brush cutter attachments, though. Is there another, more reliable brand of power head that it's those attachments, or do I have to start over from scratch?

Hey neighbor,

I have the Stihl FS90R with string trimmer, brush blade, adj. hedge trimmer, and pole saw. That semi four-cycle is wonderful and even the 90 (on the smaller end) has more than enough power for these attachments. A good friend has the Kombi version for even easier interchange (I have to lessen and re-tighten two bolts each time) and loves his too. I think you'll find the reviews consistently positive on both series (all use the same family of power head).

Good luck,
Hunter

One good thing about using the combination tools is that you keep the motor running more frequently, nothing worse than a motor that sits to long inbetween uses.
