2 Person / 4 Person UTV ComparisonI was curious if anyone else looked into this? I was able to check out Kawasaki's version of the 2 seater to 4 seater diesel UTV and must say, I like the tilt steering on the Kawasaki, but there wasn't anything else about it that I liked as much as the Kubota RTV 1140 CPX.

Converting from 2 seater to 4 seater on the Kawasaki (unless I'm just retarded, and that could be) is a 2 person job, while Kubota, with its ingenious use of "rollers" to slide the cargo cage backwards and forwards, enables a single person to easily do the conversion. Kubota's use of an industrial hydraulic cylinder for the dump bed as opposed to an electric stepper motor and the full hydrostatic transmission as opposed to a CVT tranny, Kubota, from an industrial working machine standpoint, seems to me to be a hands down winner for my needs over Kawasaki......anyone else compare these two "trans" UTV's?

The Kawasaki overall did look much more "modern" from a controls, dashboard, and switches standpoint than the Kubota. Anyone else have a different take?

Time in 2 Person vs. 4 Person ModeI was also curious for those with 2 and 4 person mode UTV's, what % of time would you guess your machine is in 2 person mode?

Buyer's Remorse If you had to do it all over again, the dealer gave you back all your money, would you still get the 2 / 4 person UTV or do you think you'd go for the 2 person only equivalent?

I just purchased a used Toro Workmaster for our Optimist Park to do utility work around the fields...
I know that most everyone on here looks at the other brands as this model is mostly used on golf courses...
With that said the two seat option is fine for our uses...
For the price that we paid I have absolutely no remorse about the unit...
It has performed flawlessly thus far and I expect many years of excellent service out of it...

The bottom line when choosing is does it fit YOUR needs. I wanted to get a UTV for our place because my wife has RA pretty bad and just can't hardly get around. For OUR needs, the unit had to be easy for her to get in and out of, easy to steer and operate, and be somewhat quiet. Price or financing really wasn't an issue. I bought last June, before the new Kubota and new Hondas came out. I did go and test drive the Kubota 500, and 900, Ranger 500, JD 625 and 825, Honda UTV, and the Kawasaki Mule. We really didn't need anything for working around the place since we have a tractor; another toy that I don't know what I would do without. The Mule won out for us. It was easier for my wife to drive than the Kubota, which was hard for her to change from forward and reverse as well as louder than she wanted. The Ranger rode really well, but she needed power steering. I was concerned about the dependability standpoint. Only a short warranty, 6 months I think. The JD just didn't fit me well physically. Wife was concerned that I wasn't comfortable. I really thought ahead of time that the 825 would be the winner. Really disappointed in the Honda UTV. At the time only the original Big Red was available, but I was really underwhelmed-surprised since I have driven Honda cars since 1980 and owned a Honda lawnmower and have a couple of their generators. The Mule was the best choice for us. It wasn't the fastest or easiest riding But it was easy to get on/off. Easy to drive with PS. Easy to change from F to R. Quiet with the Kawasaki gas engine. We chose the 2014 4010 Trans in red, because my wife liked the color. She decided that the 2 seats would be great to have. We have only used it with both seats, since we don't use it for "work", although it is great to haul small things from the truck or garage to the shed. Great for when the kids come over. Even though when I first broached the subject and my wife somewhat ridiculed me about it, she loves it and uses it much more frequently than she thought she would. We haven'nt looked at any of the just introduced models since we already bought. We have no regrets with the purchase, operation, or maintenance of our Mule at this time. And the grands love riding on "Ruby".

Jim 75, sounds like "Ruby" was the perfect choice......... Sorry to hear about your wife, my mom has RA, and I can't imagine how much inner strength (and heavenly) it takes to cope with such a vicious disease..... I'm hoping my wife enjoys our new 1140 more than she currently thinks she will as well....

BTW, as a fellow Honda owner/lover, I, too, was very disappointed with their attempts at a UTV (or at least one that would meet my needs)....
