COMPARE X465AWS TO X534AWS

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO RESEARCH MYSELF AND
FIND VERY LITTLE WRITTEN ABOUT THE X465'S
AND475AWS I'D LIKE TO SAVE BUCKS BUYING A
MACHINE WITH A FEW MORE HOURS.THE 534AWS
IS A CURRENT PRODUCTION MACHINE AND PRICEY
I'D APPREACIATE YOU IMPUT AND RESEARCH EFFORTS

I believe the 465 better compares to the current 700 Series. I have a 534 and haven't had any problems. If money was no object most likely I would have a 749.

I was alittle worried about 21hp on the
465 and if it offered a differential lock
I've only found two desciptions and
only the one mentioned the lock. the
749 you mentioned sounds quite abit
bigger.I mow two 3/4 A lots with many
slopes and obsticles it can be mind
boggleing:confused2:

I had a 2003 x485. The old x4xx/x5xx series is the same basic tractor as the x7xx series now, just renumbered and with more hp and features - full time awd, etc. I don't recall however jd making an x465 aws. In any case the x465/475 would be more tractor than the current x5xx series jd is now selling. I would look for an x485 at least to get liquid cooling and fuel injection.

Thanks for directing me the x4oo renamed
to 7xx series now i'll be able to put this
to rest till pre-season trade ins come in.

My X465 is a awesome machine. Its not AWS, but its a rock solid machine, not sure you can buy a better machine. :thumbsup:

I DECIDED THE 465'S THE MACHINE
it's got the right HP. for me and
tires.And as you say a rock solid
machine.JD's chart shows it in a
AWS but unfortunately their isn't
one for sale in the country!!I'm
going to wait and watch and tell
my local dealers what i need and
see if they can locate one somewhere

I have had the opportunity to run both a Deere X534 and a Deere X744 and hands down, my vote goes to the Deere X744, nicer seat, better ride and a bit heavier built... I liked the X534 mower, its a nice mower but I found the X744 to be more stable on hillsides and the power of the Diesel is amazing.

I just bought an 07 Deere X744 with 48" deck with 24hp Diesel this past June and really have been quite impressed with it, bought her with 692hrs on her and she now has 783hrs, still have my 95 Deere 455 with 60 inch deck and maybe in a few years I will have a 2nd X700 series... Once you go to an X700 series Garden tractor, its hard to go back.

Good luck with your hunt, if you can justify it go with the Diesel, but if you need to stay with gas, I would get one that is liquid cooled verses air cooled plus electronic fuel injected for easier starting and longer life.

I believe the X465 is air cooled and the X475 & X485 were liquid cooled.
