Compact sales off 4 months in a row- Rebates?

Sales were off about 9% for June. The inventory is creeping up as well. Look for Fall rebates by the major brands to clean out their 2005 inventory.

This raises an interest question -- do tractors generally follow the same pattern as cars?

I'm looking to buy my tractor this month because of the 0% financing which expires end of July. Although such financing expired end of June and then was held over -- so I don't want to be pushed on that alone.

But if I wait till fall will the deals get better?

One thing really seems off on that report. I can't imagine it being even remotely right to see 2 wheel drive tractors outselling 4 wheel drive models by a 60 to 1 margin. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I'm just not buying those figures. I would more likely believe the opposite. It's the odd exception now for me to see a 2 wheel drive tractor in my area. Who published that report? I don't intend to be rude, but I just don't believe the 2 wheel drive vs 4 wheel drive figures even a little bit.

I believe 4 wheel drive in those reports reffers to tractors in which the front and rear wheels are of the same size as in some of the larger AG tractors.

yeah, that's it in compacts, technically it's MFWD (mechanical front wheel drive) or FWA (front wheel assist). When talking AG tractors 4WD are the honkin' big, all wheels equal size with duals all around critters...

Okay, but how many of the under 40hp tractors are the big honkin' ag tractors? That is the largest number of sales listed in the report. Based on what I've seen in the fields working, on the dealer's lots, and listed for sale all over the internet, that report just just doesn't cut it on accuracy of the 2wd vs 4wd. Being that the report is off so much on that, how accurate are the rest of the numbers? If they aren't counting the "front wheel assist" (with front differentials - even some of them locking) as 4 wheel drive, their classification system is so flawed that the report isn't of any use. So far, I rate the accuracy of that report right up there with the supermarket mags that report that space aliens are inside Clinton's mind. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You mean their not /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Are you sure he has no aliens in there?

Basically none, thats where you see the 8.9% drop, they are all listed as 2 wheel drive because they have different size tires.

Hey CCI,

That may be true for the Major brands, but I just talked with my Chinese Tractor Dealer, and he told me that he had sold all of his tractors and was waiting on the next shipment coming in, and they are most likely allready sold as well.
