As usual took my inspiration from many great posts here on TBN >..
After 225 hrs decided to remove the backhoe to fab a rear carrier as we have 6 big (16" +) red & white oaks to drop & buck this fall - wacked by the gypsies 2 years ago. Carrier fab I will post in a couple of weeks, here is the compact dolly;

As space is a premium in the Monster Garage, the dolly was set up to carry the BH folded - looks tippy in the pictures all folded up, but you'd have to tackle it to knock it over.

Scrap ripped mahogany from a trim job: 1 1/8" x 3 1/2" and four dolly wheels from Home Depot, some epoxy and a few bolts.

Doesn't mount & dismount as fast as BXPANDED's (who's design I really like if I had more space)

Used the thumb to lock the bucket, the chains to freeze the dipper, a turnbuckle to keep the arm in tight, and some line to keep the outriggers up. 5" wheels roll with no problem.

Eric, remember when we could all do that ? - all I can flip now is a screwdriver in my hand . . . . .. . and lucky to catch it . .

I need experienced advice on making the rear carrier guys . . .

Not sure whether to mount it fixed to the tractor frame (same way the BH mounts) or to mount it to the 3ph. Have never used the 3ph and don't know it's capacity or if it will handle lateral force well. The carrier will be able to be ballasted for using the loader - maybe 500lbs or so, and be a big enough platform to carry 1000lbs of logs give or take - maybe 4' x4' with detachable sides. Am headed out to dust off the 3ph box - tossed it in the shed a few years ago when I got the BX.
Thanks for any ideas,

Dave

The BX 3pt will handle 1200lbs. I built a single row firewood carrier entirely out of scrap for the 3 pt. I thought about making something for BH mounts and I am sure it will handle alot more, but I wanted mine setup so I can load up and drop in garage still in carrier and go. It handles just fine, Its 4 ft wide and its setup for 5 ft high I think and I had it over 6 ft high. I just can't go fast over bumps, but then I don't need to go in high gear with wood.

Thanks RMAN, excellent idea on being able to drop the carrier - I will build the subframe like a fork setup with a couple pins to lock the carrier portion in place and will go tall also vs deep as the woods are pretty tight here. By the way, thought I knew every square inch of this tractor but found this under the toplink mount today - any takers?
