Hi all. Since they 'retired" me after 30 years, I now (post shoulder surgery anyway) have finally been able to do a few little things. I'd been wanting to spruce up the old LK3054 appearance-wise and was pretty pleased with the results. I'm not web-site savvy enough to attach two photos, so I'll give you the before & after pictures separately. What do you think?

Nice job /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
If you wash those tires and spray some of that wheel black on them, it'd look almost new.
How long did it take to re-paint?

Looks like a new one! I like the old look just as well though.

To post a before and after, you can either use editing software to create a two photo canvas, or you can put the pics on a different website side-by-side and then link to that web page.

The way you did it is the most common method being used on TBN.

I hope my plastic CK20 takes paint as well. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

See my attachment for a side-by-side comparison.

Maybe I could Armor-All them too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The whole job took place over two days. A few hours each day offset by some shooting time at the pistol range.
First I wire wheeled the surface then cleaned the grease away by wiping the metal with paper towels sprayed with brake cleaner. Next, I masked the labels, grease fittings, hoses & pins. Masking took less time than you'd think and made for a great looking finished product. Hoses were covered with Saran Wrap and masking tape was used everywhere else. Painting involved careful layered coats from four cans of Chevy Orange Engine paint (great color match, thanks for the tip fellow Kioti TBNers!). I'm really pleased with the results and hope I can update my user image soon with the "new" look.

The vast majority of the CK20 is metal. Just trim pieces are plastic, and they can be replaced fairly inexpensively.

Kentr....
Nice paint job, it really makes an older tractor look new. I know about the Chevy engine orange being a good match, but what do you use for the dark gray match?

Unfortunately, I didn't do any gray touch-up, so I can't answer your question. Not much gray on my machine anyway (unless you count my new engine). My wheel hubs, axles, frame, etc. are all blue.
