Does anyone have a source for CNW (Chinese National Weird) hydraulic fittings? I have a Power Track backhoe going on a JM-354 tractor and it has a broken female hydraulic hose fitting on the bucket cylinder. It is a flat O ring connection. It has an 18mm x 1.5 thread but it is not a standard ISO thread. My local hose guy had nothing like it. He had a very similar style but it would not thread onto the cylinder. The cylinder fittings are all welded into the cylinders, so changing to some more standard fitting is not an option. I am relatively sure that the chicom dealers can't/won't sell just a fitting.
I was able remachine the barb and sealing surface and braze the 2 pieces back together, so I am good for now. I would to have a couple replacement ends for next time this happens. Any ideas?

My hose guy says that he can't get a good crimp on the metric hose with an US crimp sleeve, so the repaired hose end may spit out of the hose, if abused.
I can, if necessary buy US barbs and machine the original chicom flat/O ring ends and braze them together, but I would like to find a source for the metric hose, fittings, and crimp sleeves. Again, any ideas?
TIA
Jason

From memory Ronald from Ranch Hand Supply was stocking these fittings or adapters to convert them to common used fittings.

I wound up having to order from ebay some 16mm and some 18mm ID. copper washers to take the place of those oring/washer seals the chinese use. I could not for the life of me find any copper washers larger than 5/8" OD. locally. Good ol' ebay came thru though. When I put the copper washer on I used a Loctite hydraulic sealant as well and it didn't leak. bjr

They aren't "weird", they're METRIC. Welcome to the international marketplace.

Harbor Freight has an excellent copper washer kit. FYI, the Chinese aren't the only ones that use ORFS fittings. It's an industry standard. Caterpillar uses them extensively, as do others.

No they ARE National Weird. They appear to be metric but NOT the JIC (Japanese) standard nor the ISO (Europe and the rest of the world) standard. In addition the CNW 18mm x 1.5 thread is some bastard that is about .010" bigger than the others in OD and is not a good fit on an ISO or JIC 18mm x 1.5 thread.
I am thinking that it may be a BSP or Whitworth variant and not really metric, or a bastard thread like 14mm spark plug which is smaller that the ISO or JIC 14mm thread. An old Machinery's Handbook is full of such gems.

JIC is NOT Japanese, do some more reading.

That's odd, because the assortment I bought in the local Harbor Freight store goes up to 3/4". Hmm.
