when mowing the blade shuts down and I have to restart the blade.

Engine never stalls just the blades stop mowing and I have to continually restart them

We need more info. What machine are you using?
If it is riding mower. Check the seat switch.

Sorry about that it is a cub cadet 1050 has about 300 hours on it.

has the 23 horse kohler with 50" deck. runs great just when the blades are going it will hsut off sometimes only after mowing 3 or 4 mins other times it dgoes 40-50 mins. I just have to disengage the blade and restart the blades to get mowing agian.

Checked the wires because I thought it was maybe aloose wire or something but they all seem good.

Are you sure you're not tripping the seat safety switch?

A light weight operator and bumpy ground can easily cause this.

Also could be a cut/chaffed wire that powers the PTO. A weak battery can also cause the coil in the PTO to drop out.

Deffinately not a seat issue because I have that disconnected and that turns the engine off not the blade.

The engine does not stop running just the drive for the belt to move the blades stops.

I would take a look at the wiring and connector that goes to the PTO clutch then. They require a constant supply of 12VDC to stay engaged.

Are you going into reverse? Some shut the blades off so you don't run over stuff.

You said you checked wires to the PTO clutch right? Now check wires to back side of key switch, they can work loose and not provide the voltage needed to keep the pto running.
