Just a couple thousand difference, both used with less than 300 hours at the local Kubota Dealer. Don稚 really need zero swing as for home use on my 20 acres. Both units are in there rental fleet and still under warranty. Question any pros and cons to these 2? Also want a 12? 24蚤nd a 36 grader bucket.

Dont really know the units but can pitch in my thoughts.
As always for stability more weight is better. Are you going to trailer it as well?
More reach is better. More HP is better.
Which has better fuel economy? Extra buckets?
Track size? A quick hitch with thumb? Enclosed cab?
Repair manual? Extra filters etc?
Which one does your wife like? :)

Wife like the cheapest lol. The specs are really the same except the u35 is zero tail and heavier, that is really the onlly difference. No cab on both, hours about the same, same engine, quick release bucket, thumb on both. I am really leaning towards the KX71 mainly because of cost and I don’t have to upgrade a trailer

If you can afford either machine, get the heavier one. Weight is how much work you can do, horsepower is how fast.

I bought a U45 a couple months ago. Really didn't realize it was zero tail swing until after I had it. You'd be surprised how handy that is next a trailer, fence, tree ect. and doesn't hurt anything otherwise.

Zero Swing is better than a little extra weight. Without it you are limited to getting close to foundations ect. In my opinion.

It is no secret that I love Kubotas, and I tried to buy the K008 at my local rental yard. The yard that I have bought many tractors from. Our local Kubota dealer has sold rental tractors in the past, but the discounts from new were minimal.

Size and weight matters, but bigger/heavier is not always better. Tight spaces or narrow trails, and you will regret too big. Too heavy to haul with your rig? No bueno.

What kind of prices do you see for 300-hour units in TX?

Looking at right at $30k for the kx71, so I figured right around $10k to $15 off new prices

I bought a new KX71 four years ago for 38k plus change with thumb, quick attach, 24" digging bucket, ripper tooth and 36 inch grading bucket. Love that machine.

i know I am way late to this party but stumbled upon this thread as I research for a purchase of an ex myself.

It struck me as odd that a KX-71 vs U35 would be a tough decision...~3200lb lift capacity with zero tail swing...vs 1700lb lift capacity without? Maybe 8100 vs 6300 weight? lower weight could be better if your transport capabilities are limited.

Yeah, figure on minimum 2000# for a trailer plus spare attachments, and the old 1/2T V8 pickup ain't gonna do it.

There is a photo around here somewhere of a 1T mini-X in the bed of a 3/4T pickup. No tailgate, of course.
