Anyone have an idea how to keep the front grill screens from clogging up with weed seeds etc. when mowing high grass? The screen over the radiator also gets clogged, but the outside grill clogs up fast. I have to stop every 10 to 15 minutes to clean off the grill screen on the front to keep the tractor from overheating. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I wish that I had a good answer for your question---because I have the same problem. What I have tried is a coarse screen over the front brushbar. This helps but still in tall fallow areas the screen can clog up pretty darn quick.

I could cut for a few hours easy with my old L3750 before even thinking about the screen clogging up. Boy what a difference a grille design can make.

So has anyone thought of a better way?

I never had a problem with my old 245DT because the sides were open and kept the engine cool. Also much easier to service. I bet someone somewhere who never used a tractor made that design decision, and everyone thought they had to do the same to make them appealing to a Yuppie market who wants their tractors looking like their cars.

No, I don't know of a better way than to stop periodically - like when you see the temp gauge begin to nudge up a bit - and brush things off. I did try putting a piece of wire screen on the front grill guard, which on my Kubota is in front of most of the air inlet stuff on the tractor, and that helped a bit.
