So I have decided to get chains for the rear of my B2630. I have R4 tires. I am looking for someone that has the equivalent of a B2630 that put chains on. Called the dealership and they said to watch for clearance issues. They could not say for sure if they would fit or not. Nay thoughts from anyone? I was looking at Tire chains.com. Thinking about getting 2link for the rear only. Thought about loading back tires but also use tractor for mowing the yard and I do not want to mark the yard up. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a B3030 (same tractor family as B2630) and went to chains a couple years ago for snow and ice. When I first tried my chains I had a clearance problem - roughly 1/8 - 1/4 inch clearance. I purchased the wheel spacer from my Kubota dealer and now I have approx. 1.5 - 2.0 inch clearance. (The spacers are pricey, but chain clearance is no longer an issue.) Also, since I have some hills to work on the spacers give me additl stability with the wider track in the rear.

Ditto. I did the exact same thing to my B3030. There is just not enough clearance for chains without the wheel spacers. Had the dealer install them due to the tires being loaded. Cost about $300 installed.

Thanks for all the replys. Bstrom do you have spacers on your Tractor? Do you folks think loading the tires would mark the yard when mowing? Also for those that have the spacer is there any problems with clearence with the MMM?

Hi, I have a B3030 and also put spacers on to accomodate rear chains. I also have a 60" mmm and there are no clearance issues with using the spacers with that deck.

No spacers needed with those chains. Don't know about the B3030 - mines a B2620. They don't need much room though, and they are good.

When I ordered those chains for my L3830 the seller told me that my 1.1/4 inch of clearance was not necessary. My tractor is at the dealer now to have the wheels swapped in order to gain clearance.

Whoops, I didn't need spacers but man, you must almost no clearance because those are pretty low profile chains -top and sides. Sorry hope I didn't mess you up, but I think they are the most compact chains you can buy.

Might not work on the B3030 then either.

Bstrom, how much clearance do you have between the wheel and the inside fender? Also help from anyone on the loaded tires and mowing experience I would appreciate it.

big mistake: i should have written: 1.1/4 inch clearance is not enough. Sorry for my mistake. I'm trying to think what was i thinking to justify the mistake but I cannot think of anything.

I forgot to mention I have loaded rears (turfs) too on the B3030, but dont notice them marking up the lawn. If anthing, I think the front tires do the most damage if I turn sharply in soft spots.

Looks like I've got about 2 inches of clearance on my B2620 between the r4 tire wall and the inside of the fender at the closest point. The chains I have which are in the picture take up about 3/4 of an inch of that space. Possibly a little more in places to be safe.

I had tried Tru-Grip chains at one point and they did not clear, the links were to big and gommy. They are ridiculous for a small tractor anyway. I took them back to the dealer and he told me to buy these which was a probably bigger profit for him but they work nice.

Good luck hope this helps.

I purchased two link ladder chains for my B3030 with R4's. I found that the connection link rubbed the back part of the fender well. After removing the rear wheels and trimming about an inch and a quarter off the bottom of the inside fender ... no more rubbing. Of course I primed and painted the exposed steel. Next month I will be upgrading to a L5740 HSTC, I'm tired of being wet and cold!

The B3030 cab model must have different fenders. I have tire chains on mine that I made up from 11x22.5 truck tire chains & have no problems with clearance. I bet you'll like that L5740 HSTC. I sure would. But I didn't need a bigger tractor when I bought my B3030HSDCC. I have an Oliver 77 for when I need something bigger.
