Cleaning up rusty racks on the Ole Honda ATV

Got the old 1985 Honda TRX 250 out today. Cleaned her up and repainted the racks. To be a 1985 year model, date of manufacture is actually 9/84, she still runs great!

Looks great! My first four-wheeler was a 1985 TRX 125. Wish I still had it! Looks like you got a fine machine there.

I can't tell from that pic, looks fabulous by the way, but is that 2WD or 4WD, 2 I assume? What are those worth usually? Do you have many hills there, and how does it handle an adult in the hills? I weigh about 165 usually.

wow, very cool my buddy had one just like that and i had the big red we ripped up the ND backroads and put on many miles touring from farm to farm., in fact my folks still have the big red and it runs great.

To see an 85 model without broken plastic, dented rims, etc., you must take care of your stuff.

Nice old machine. I too have a 1985 Honda ATV. Mine is an AT350X Three Wheeler. It has six forward gears and two foot powered reverse gears. All the plastic is still good and the seat is original with no rips. She's a barn queen alright. I'll try to attach a picture of the old girl...

Two wheel drive. I have used it hunting a couple times. Brought out one deer with it. Other than that it gets trail ridden with my kids. Im 185lbs, 6 ft tall and I fit ok. We have what most people call rolling hills around here and it handles these just fine. I have no way to know the miles on it, but the oil looks great, and it is always full with no leaks and no smoke. Yes, I do my best to take care of everything I have. It's well used but not abused! Honda makes great products! My truck in the background is a weekend thing since gas is so expensive, my daily driver is a 99 Honda accord, with 195k on the clock. Runs great also, no leaks and no smoke.

Had that same model back in 85. It got me hooked. Been driving them ever since.
