I hauled the deck out from under my JD 2305 and scraped and hosed off every bit of clippings and dirt. I even put some car wax underneath.
Today I mowed again for the first time after that job and I was looking forward to keeping it clean with the hose inlet port.
Ran it at operating blade speed and turned on the water - hardly worth doing. I have a push mower with a hose inlet, and it blasts the water around and cleans its deck well but no joy with the JD.
I took out the inlet and ran water through. It flows - not blasts - in two directions, but not very much volume.
I hauled the deck out again and propped it against the rear tire and used the hose to clean up - that did pretty well.
Does anyone have a hose inlet that keeps the underside of the deck clean, or are they pretty useless?
