I'm new to TBN and also new to tractors in general. Whatever I buy, it will be my first purchase. My research so far, leads me to New Holland Boomers. However, I can't find what the difference is between a Class II Boomer such as the TC34DA and the Class III Boomer as represented by the TC35A/DA. Both are 3 cyl. diesels with 35 gross HP. Is there a difference in the tractor frame? Thanks.

Welcome to TBN! :)

I haven't kept up to date with all the new models, but back when I bought my Class II Boomer, a TC25D, the difference between the upper end of the Class II line (TC33) and the low end of the Class III line (TC35) was the physical size of the tractor, larger frame, longer, wider, etc.

yes, class II bommers have a 60" rear track, class III bommers have a 72" rear track, longer wheelbase, a larger tractor all the way around. If you had a TC34 and a TC35 next to each other you could easily tell.
WELCOME,, and have fun in your search

Thanks to both "MikePA" and "hockeyhead" for your input. You both confirm what I thought to be the case. And, FYI, I am having fun with my search for my ideal first tractor--already having fun reading all the Q & A's on TBN. This is a great forum for learning tractor-related things.

Woody, how right you are. TBN is awesome.

Woody, the "walk-around" suggestion is the best. When you do it, look at the details of the two classes of tractor. There are many differences. Look at the way the hydro pedals are designed on the hydro models. Check out the rear wheels and how they are made. Look at the FELs and check capacities. Check 3PH lift specs and weight of tractor. You just have to decide which tractor fits your needs. It would be nice if one was an exact replica, but larger/smaller, but that's just not the case (no pun intended).:)

If it were me and I was comparing those two tractors, I would look at intended purpose. If I was going to do loader & boxblade (for example) I would go with the larger frame. If those were minor uses and the major use was mowing a finished lawn (under a few acres) I would go with the smaller frame. Take that from somebody who usually upgrades to larger frame tractors
