Clamp on Bucket Hitch Receiver 2"

Hey List,

Well I welded a 2" receiver hitch to the top edge of my bucket, but the main problem I had was seeing the ball as I tried to hook up to things.. the bucket was in the way.. I had some time today, after voting, to kill so I welded up a "Clamp on" 2" receiver for the lower edge of my bucket.. I did not get a chance to try it out, but I think it should be pretty good for shuttling trailers around my yard. I used shorter bolts in the front burr's to allow room for the Hitch pin to come through.

Its a good design I know from experience that there is alot of stress on the fixture in the clamp on process. Ive had to add metal to the one I made, To get it solid and stiffenough I think it now weighs 50 lns lol
One Idea I had was if the bolts were long enough so another smaller bolt or rod could be welded across the head
thus making it a big wing nut and no need to a wrench to tighten it. Not sure if this would allow enough torqe on it or not..

I was thinking of doing exactly that with the bolts ... But the back bolts are too close to the center for a significant lengh lever.. and the front bolts need to be all the way down for the hitch pin to come through... I use my electric impact wrench to snug them real fast now. I'm still not thrilled with the view of what is going on up there around the bucket ... The only other option would be a skid steer plate with 2" receiver?

another thought is maybe an old socket and weld something onto that to make the 't' handle
I know what you mean about the view I have the same trouble. Im considering some sort of drop hitch so i can see it under the bucket. I usually end up just a chain around the tonge and pulling that way.Its real sloppy and sometimes comes loose.

That's a GREAT idea.. I can make a small chain / Cable and attach it to the hitch so it's always there... I'm glad I thought of that.

Nice design! I decided to buy at Titan clamp on receiver hitch on Amazon, mainly because of price and good reviews. Some pictures are attached. Also, I give a review and demonstration in this video: Titan Clamp on Trailer Receiver Hitch Review - YouTube

Not running a bolt through one of the predrilled holes for a bolt on cutting edge is a missed opportunity. That would keep the whole thing from sliding off.

I have the Titan bucket clamps. I tried several times using one in the center to move my small boat around but it keeps shifting side ways when pulling the trailer and worse when pushing.
