Kioti CK20HST
Had a minute or 2 to look at a Bobcat CK30.
Look like it had split brakes, but they where on the same side as the "go pedal ??? Not sure how Kioti intend split rear brakes to be used, but with my larger case machine left foot would lock up one rear and right foot would work the gas, to spin on a dime.
Am I missing something with the CUT's ?

thanks,

They are separate brakes, the pedals are just pinned together, pull the pin and they operate separately and you can lock up each rear wheel independently and spin the tractor around. I agree with others, having the brakes on the same side as the HST GO pedal is a poor design. Not all CUTs are set up this way, but the ergo's on the others didn't work for me for other reasons, I didn't find this an important feature for my uses, mostly FEL and BH work.

They are pinned together and bolted. Made to not be taken apart.
They were made this way because if you were moving and the "cruise control" was set.....
AND you had the brakes split......Pushing on one brake pedal could be disastrous, especially if you had a bucket full of dirt etc.
The new DK series hydro's are set up so that when the brakes are uncoupled frome each other the cruise will not engage.
The geardrives are made to be split.

My TYM made Mahindra has the split brakes on the left and the two pedal hydro on the right. There is a single main brake pedal on the right as well.
I thought some JD's were like this as well.

That sounds like a better design.

The DKSE series is set up with 2 brake pedals on the left and the 2 hydro pedals on the right.
The pedals CAN be split on the SE series hydros.

Why would They put the brakes on the right side on the CK tractors ?
That just put the CK off the short list for My tractor purchase.

Down to NH/Case ?

I don't own any of the CUTs but I would guess the reasoning could be easier to get on and off of the small compacts. I have worked on these small compact tractors for years and one thing I see with the small Kioti is that people will not be able to wear out their brakes by their unique design. By using the same foot to go and stop there will be no confusion of what they are doing. If you have seen some of the people I have on CUT you would understand that it would not be safe for them to lock up one brake to spin it around. In my opinion I think it is very unsafe to do that no matter how exp. you are. I have seen some pretty bad accidents due to the person accidently locking up one brake. But it is each persons preference. Keep in mind with your CUT purchase that since they are small they are very nimble and I think you will find it less necessary to use the one brake turn especially a Hydro CUT.

I own a CK30 HST. For my use, the only time I ever use the brakes is to set and lock the parking brake.

Ditto- Then again, my use is mostly FEL, rear blade and backhoe, none of which gives me any reason to use split brakes.
