I'm changing out the hydraulic fluid early. I had an o-ring break and I lost some fluid. Found a good deal on Mobil 424 and want to just use that going forward. I've looked in the user manual, but the picture doesn't really match up with the tractor. They seem to show that there is one drain and it is on the side of the transmission case - next to one of the filters. I can't locate that. I do see a large bolt directly underneath the case and another slightly to the front. Both of these are painted orange, just like the engine drain bolts, so I suspect that they are the drains for the hydraulic fluid. Anyone have any advice on this? Pictures attached.

The Transmission Drains are the orange painted drain plugs on the bottom of the transmission. The larger plug will have the magnet on top of it when it's removed. Clean the magnet before re-installing in the tractor.

Thanks! I changed everything out this weekend. Was a lot easier than I thought, although one of the filters was a bit tough to remove. It is really great to get this help online, especially since I noticed one or two slight discrepancies in the Owner's Manual.

This is a great time for my question.
MichiganIron.... The large flat plate the magnet plug is in... MyCK27HST is leaking around the plate.
Is there any reason I cant pullthe plate and reseal? The plate is so HD and large gives me second thoughts that it may also have a additional purpose. (holding something in place??)
Thanks

I was curious too. The best price I found was at Summit Racing with free shipping at $99. There is a mail-in rebate of $10 on the 5 gallons, so $65 afterwards. I need 6 gallons, so went with buying 7 1/2 gallons. I wasn't paying attention and ordered, says won't ship until 3/24 but I don't need it right now anyway. Toukow

Nope, that will work, you will need to drain the transmission to do it. Re-seal with High-Temp RTV Sealant.

Hope this helps

Found this fluid on Amazon.
Amazon.com: Triax Agra UTTO XL Synthetic Blend Premium Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Oil - Extreme Performance - Replaces Most OEM Fluids (1 x 5 GAL Pail): Automotive

Full synthetic, red color. In the fine print says something about good for 6,000 hours.
So will most likely will go with it and change filters per schedule and replace fluid at maybe 800 hours instead of 400 hours. Will have to consider a Blackstone lab test at 400 hours and see what the results are like.

Presently running NAPA Coastal synthetic (99 per pail). Flushed out the OEM at 200 with filters. Yeah pretty sad being so OCD.
Anyway, my thinking is on the third fluid cycle the initial manufacturing fines should be gone and gears should be set by this point.
Presently at 535 hours. Looks like the average is 200 hours per year...between our place and helping this elderly rancher.

Will post later in the month after fluid change in a new thread.
