CK2610 HST filters doesn稚 match

Looking for a little help here. Was attempting to do 50 hour service and change HST and hydraulic filters. Drained fluid since I was going to use fresh anyways and then removed filter on side with HST pedals. The filter I was given to replace was a T5855-46531. The filter I removed looks a lot different. No numbers on it since it is painted over.

Here is a comparison pic:




They look very different. The seals being smaller diameter on the new filter makes me think there is no way it will work.

My dealer is closed until Sunday morning so I?ll talk to them about it also.

Anyone run into this?

You should have two filters that look just like that for the hydraulics and HST both same exterior size but different in the inside. Not sure if you meant to pull the HST filter or the hydraulic but you did the opposite of the new filter you have there.

For the ck3510 HST that I have it takes the following that appear the same on the exterior.

If you only have that one filter I would put the old one back on (assuming it’s not damaged) and pull the other (correct) one and swap it. But really you might as well do both at the same time.

yes, they look the same on the tractor, but are NOT the same.

BEWARE - the left side filter when removed will POUR out transoil - some folks jack up the tractor, some put a shop vac over the fill hole on the rear axle to limit the drainage. A clean pan is fine - you can reuse the oil or you'll need fresh oil.

I lost a gallon as I wasn't aware it would drain so much so fast.

To clear things up. I am changing both filters. The first filter I pulled from the hydrostatic pedal side of tractor doesn’t match either new filter the dealer sold me.

The filter in my picture that has 6 holes on the mounting plate (the one on tractor since new) is different then the new filter I was sold for HST as as well as the hydraulic filter.

The filter with 6 holes is the hydraulic filter part no. T2185-38031. The filter in the box is the hst filter which sits under the left side (clutch pedal side) of your tractor.

So I got it all straightened out with the help of my dealer. The HST filter I was given was correct. The hydraulic filter I guess was listed wrong on what the dealer called the filter ?quick reference? guide he had.

Put the tractor back together yesterday and filled it back up with fresh fluid even though I know changing the hydraulic/hst fluid isn?t required at the 50 hour service. All new fluids gave me piece of mind and did not add that much cost to the service.

i just got burned in a similar fashion, but just by a lazy parts clerk. The Hydraulic filter they gave me was T5710-38031. So the last 4 numbers were correct, which passed the smell test. Same deal, threaded hole is much too large. Now I have filter with some oil in it, that is incorrect. 42$ in the garbage, and I am an hour away from the freaking dealer.

Silver lining, by the time I am done, i will likely have replaced 2 out of 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid. Which looks just fine coming out btw.
