CK25 Finally Won't Start - no power from switch to the solenoid.

I may not be saying this correctly because I am not a tractor wiz by any stretch of the imagination. But I have a CK25 with HST, a pedal on the floor that I depress to go back and forward. It also has a clutch pedal that I depress to switch ranges, hi, medium and low.

That's just my ignorance asking. I didn't realize the CK20 HST models used a clutch.

I have a CT225, which, while not exactly the same tractor, is similar. It has an HST and a clutch. The primary use for the clutch is engaging and disengaging the PTO. The user manual also says you should press in the clutch when shifting gear ranges and/or engaging/disengaging 4wd, but I don't find that's strictly necessary, depending on various conditions. If the shifter or the 4wd lever is jammed up, it is usually because of either tension in the diff or tension in the hydraulics of the transmission and driveline. Either way, I fix it by pressing the clutch in and then pressing the HST lever full forward and backward. To relieve tension in the diff, I let the tractor roll a few feet with the clutch in. In this case, the clutch is necessary to disconnect the transmission from the wheels so that the hydraulic pressure can be relieved, but it's not necessary like it would be in a gear tractor. After the hydraulic pressure has been relieved, I can shift without using the clutch.
