Well, late last year I said something about Tennessee not getting much cold weather, so I have not had a Zero temperature starting on my tractor. Well I guess I jinxed us all. We have had two days below zero and several in the single digits. To day it was zero degrees. The is the first time in many years that we have had this cold of weather. The good news is my little CK20s started right up. I let it warm for about 20 mins before I started using it, but it worked great. I don't know how much more of this global warming I can take. I am glad I cut extra fire wood this year.

How many times did you cycle the glow plugs before you tried it? Just curious :)

I cycled the glow plugs twice before I tried to start it. Hit right away with a little black smoke and cleared up in a few seconds.

My DK starts a lot easier then my Duramax when it's in the single digits.......I guess I should plug the Dmax in hunh?

In single digits I cycle three times, starting in the middle of the third cycle...never had a problem. It does not like it if I only do one cycle when it's this cold:talktothehand:

I think my CK20 would start after one cycle of the glow plugs; however, I know it would kick and buck! I plan on keeping this tractor for the next 10-15 years, so I am going to treat it right.

Yeah my little CK20 HST does quite well in the cold, we had a ice storm here and I used it to push up some ice in the driveway.
Gullible Warning is for the birds, I saw today that we may be in for a mini-ice-age.
And long before the so called "experts" used the phrase -- Gullible Warning causes Global Cooling, I made that assertion years before in jest, several years and I mean several.
Gullible Warning!
Keep your stick on the ice!

You can be pretty sure that the global warming is all about money and not about science when Canada and Russia signed on to combat global warming. They are in line for the money. If they believed it would warm up the planet 2 degrees, they'd be pumping in as much CO2 as they could.

My ck20s lives outside year round (under a tarp). I've started many times at -25 C after sitting for 2 or 3 weeks. I just make sure to take the battery with me when I leave.

Yeah - that's what I do, too
