Kioti DK55 with Fel
I called the dealer after i had checked all possibilities and found it was the key switch. When he answered then phone he said that i could fix it if I needed it right away, so I went and got the part from him and It only took about 20 min to fix and then i took the old part back. The one thing I had a problem with was getting the engine serial number for him, but I found it and he was more than happy to help. This is an issue that Kioti knows about. If you leave your tractor outside water gets in the part and then will not start correctly. Kioti has a plastic cap to go over the key hole and it needs to be used. Mine did not come with one, but the dealer is ordering some and will call me when they come in to come and get mine. Have a great dealer in texas and will not change. Hope this helps someone else.

My switch went bad early on and the starter wouldnt engage was the symptom- parked inside always. I think they just had a bum batch. For fun I took the old one apart and all was intact except whatever lube/grease they used at factory cooked into an insulating mess.

Thanks a lot for the info, I have a brand new CK20 HST too, so I will pay attention to that.

One other realted warning.... I am a luber, I grease like a mad man and lubricate locks. Thought I would keep my Kioti's key working smoothly, it had gotten a bit chunky, so I shot some WD-40 down the keyhole. Bad move. The tach stopped working. After verifying the connections were all still good I relubed the keyhole with electrical conctact cleaner and it worked again.

No Wd-40 down the keyhole.

Never use WD 40 on anything that is in the eletrical department. You can use a greasless lubricant like LPS-1 We use it on computer keybords and things of that sort.

WD-40 is flammable and may not be good for electrical switches where you may get some spark.
