Tires CK20 R4 to R1 Issues

I need the traction in clay and I've been told by the local tire dealer that I must change wheels to change the tires from industrials to ags. Has anyone else done this recently?

I haven't done it but it sounds correct. AG tires will need a narrower and perhaps larger diameter rim.

No doubt R1's will help.

Have you tried just chaining up?

Chains may work but I have an asphalt driveway that I don't want marred.

Chains can be removed. Take into account R1's are hard on lawns.

I have lots of clay on my very steep back yard I have no traction problems with loaded R4s.
