ck20 a Landscapers dream!

I have owned my ck20 since early spring. I was very hesitant to get such a small tractor but found such a good deal that I could not pass it up. It was just big enough to dump in my dump truck, and small enough to get on both my trailers so I took the plunge. I attribute my decision to the input of many of you folks, especially Island Tractor and John who sung the praises of the little beast. It was the best decision I ever made. Sure there are times a big tractor would be faster, but on a handful of occasions anything bigger would have ment me not getting the job. It has beat all my expectations for a small landscapeing unit! I highly reccomend this tractor to anyone who is considering a small tractor of small residencial landscapeing. It is capeable of big jobs as well, but really shines where manuverability and small size are vital.

Go little Kioti go....

I still believe that the sweet spots in the Kioti line are the CK20 and the DK45S. I know some of our pack is partial to the CK25/30 but the capability of the CK20 in lifting etc is so close that I think folks should think real hard about why they need the "magical" 30 hp class machine. If you are truly doing ground engaging work you're going to want something bigger anyway. As Agentiron says, the CK20, properly set up, is a great landscaping tool for 1-6 acres or so. In the past 9 months and 90 hours of seat time I've been able to reclaim about 3 acres from overgrown briar, weed trees and stumps using mostly the CK20 TLB with 48" bush hog, toothbar and grapple. I'd buy the same set up again in a minute (and next time I wouldn't wait before getting the grapple). I'm trying to reclaim a pasture and am not aiming for a lawn so mowing is a secondary consideration. I'll eventually get a Caroni flail mower (59") to maintain the open space but for now the bush hog does fine.

My only complaint about the machine is the well documented FEL cracking but that has not inhibited use to date and will be resolved one day soon. I've posted the attached picture before but I'll do it again on the principle that a single picture is worth a thousand words. This little tractor is a sweet little brute.

Id say the ck20 is a very tough little tractor at 21hp, and the k120 loader is very tough for its size as well. Yet the Ck30 would easily outwork the ck20 in every way. I agree that the k130 loader has only 150 lbs or so more lift capability, but with the weight of the ck30 at about 900 lbs heavier and 9 more hp, the ck30 will have a significant advantage digging and pushing or pulling, even using the loader. Also offering a significant advantage moving around heavy loads in the 800- 900 lb range, simply put its a much more stable platform. I really do feel that Kioti should add another loader to their lineup for the ck30 besides the k130. Trying to match performances with the Deere 300cx and Kubota 723 loaders in the Ck30 platform would be a great addition. I have the Woods 1012 loader on my ck30 and it is much more loader then the k120 or k130 in performance. Id like to see Woods start making the curved armed loaders like their new groundbreaker backhoes, but thats a whole new post... So i guess you can chalk me up as one of the guys who thinks the ck30 has its place in the best buy catagories...hehehe
