So I was bush hogging along on my CK35 when I hit a stick about 3 feet long and an inch in diameter. Wouldn't you know it, the stick popped up and went on the right side of the tractor, over the front axle and under the radiator just perfectly enough that it popped the lower radiator hose off the radiator. Of course I got a cloud of steam, the tractor shut down, and I got off and assessed my situation.
The radiator hose was fine it just needed to be put back on. Put a screwdriver on my tool list, walked about a half mile (up hill most of the way) and back to the house. I jumped in the truck, ran to town and got premix antifreeze, grabbed a big phillips screwdriver, and jumped in the UTV to go fix it. When I got back to the tractor it was easy enough to put the hose back on and cool enough to open the radiator & refill both radiator and reservoir. All's well right!? I jump on the tractor and it turns over just fine but won't fire.
So I get to messing with it and see these 2 wires running right behind the radiator hose to a sensor of some sort, give 'em a tug and 1 of the two has been broken off up in the connector. So I get the connector off, pull it apart and find out I don't have what I need to fix it, and I've got to leave the farm to come back home to GA.
So now the tractor is sitting out in the field 4 hours away from me. I am hoping that this broken wire is the reason it won't fire and I'll just have to fix this connection and it'll fire right up next time I am there. Here are 3 pictures of what I'm dealing with...
First one showing the replaced radiator hose and the broken connection I found...
Second one shows a close up of the connector....
And in the last one I am pointing where the connector clips in. (There is a rubber vent tube that goes over that white circle above my finger that I've removed for clarity)
So...
1. Would that broken wire be why the engine won't fire?
2. What is that sensor contraption that this plugs onto?
3. Can I just get a replacement crimp on brass female pin that clips up into the connector? Also what size is it and where do I get such a thing?
Thanks in advance for your replies!
