2005 Kioti ck25 (and possibly regretting it)
Went to start my CK 25 (gear) and no go. Everything on the dash lights up like it should, the yellow light goes out but when you turn the key nothing. I can hear the pre-warm relay click but then nothing. It won't turn over I'm thinking its a relay for the starter. I only have 59 hrs and everything under the hood looks brand new. Nothing is corroded, I checked all the electrical connectors that I could find and everything is connected couldn't find anything undone. Does anybody know which relay is for the starter? One on the firewall on the left side (as you sit on it) seems to be the one that clicks when I turn the key for the pre-heater/glow plugs. It is at my dad's house right now and he lowered the backhoe so I don't even know if I could use a come-along to get it up on the trailer so I could get it to the dealers. I try and call them tomorrow in the morning, I missed them by 5 minutes tonight.
Thanks in advance for all replys.
Steve

You betcha! Tried everything, put everything it in neutral, still nothing. Does anybody know exactly what the waranty will cover? Since I won't be able to get it on the trailer with the backhoe and loader down, if the dealer comes out does the waranty cover the site visit or just the parts and labor. Haven't even had it one full year yet.

I just had some waranty work done, the only thing I paid for was for them to trailer in I live aways from them. My dealer was great, I dont think you will have a problem. Now for starting, check your kill switch, you might have to adjust it. There is a little nut on the end of the wire that might have come lose. Hang it there someone on this site will help you.

I would start with the simple stuff. The dealer, not Kioti, supplies the battery for your tractor. My dealer chose a cheapy battery and the tractor is a punishing environment. At least try to jump start the tractor from your pickup to eliminate the bad battery possibility.

Got an electrical multimeter? Check the battery voltage across the terminals and then check between the positive terminal and the engine block to check for a good ground. The ground for your entire tractor is through that little ground strap that ends on the right side of the frame rail.

Try turning on the headlights and then have someone watch them when you turn the key to start. If they dim considerably then your battery is low on charge, if they stay bright then your command to start isn't being heard by the elctrical system.

I know from experience that you can comealong your 4000# dead CK tractor onto the trailer nomatter where the loader bucket is. Using your ROPS and a comealong, no reason you can't suck the BH boom up to the machine and then start winching. It'll take awhile, youll need refreshments.

Ok now I'm puzzled, got up at around 6:30 went down to my dad's to try the tractor again. Brought the multimeter with me to check the battery and ground. Took of the right side cover (as sitting on it ) under the hood, I not sure where the kill switch is? Checked the battery wth the meter and that checked out fine, ground too. So I turned the key, heard the glow plug relay click like berfore turned the key and the tractor started. I'm happy it, did but I'm hoping it doesn't do it again at the wrong time. I stoped down at the dealer's and told them about it. He thought that the clutch switch might have been the problem. (Is that the kill switch you were refering to Dictcutter) Possibly needs to be adjusted. I'll keep you posted if it happens again. Thanks for the input.

Have you had rain? heavy rain?
We have had such heavy rain that I had seen some real weird stuff happen to some tractors on the lot.
We had 4 ways come on with out the switch being turned on.
We also experenced the same exact thing you are talking about.
Under the passenger floor board there is a wire harness that we unpluged and was full of water and when water is involved in electricial it can make weird things happen.

A word to the wise for any tractor owner if you unplug a wire connection use die electric grease to reconnect.

If the battery is charged and stays charged I think Wallace might have found the problem. I used a power washer to clean my ck30 and the same thing happen. Look under that step, on mine there are 3 conections. I could only get two of them to unplug, but I blow them with air and applied Dielectric silicone which help keeps the water out.

No, the rain isn't an issue. The tractor has been garaged since day one. I did jam my head against the clutch and look up at the switch, and it was a little out of wack. So I adjusted it and tried to start the tractor a couple of times. Started right up. Used a for about an hour, shut it off then restarted it as little later and started right up again. So, hopefully that is all it was. If it happens again I'll check the clutch switch and if its not it I'll be back. Thanks for the input.

Gravel,
Some electricial contact cleaner is also a good thing to keep around for spraying into those little switches. Radio Shack carries it and i have had good luck fixing the odd switch malfunction using the stuff. I know some folks use WD, but it is not recommended for electricial stuff.
