ck 20hst pto stoped working

i have got a early ck20 i was rototilling and it just stoped turning??????
does any one ever had this happen?
it has 375 hrs on it. it also chatters going up hill if it is under a load like mowing or brushhoging

We need more information. I cannot figure out from your post whether the PTO shaft is not turning or not transmitting power to your tiller. Does the PTO turn when activated? Is there a slip clutch or shear bolt on the tiller? You mention other implements, does the mower work with the PTO? Have you checked fluid levels?

The pto shaft dose not turn when ingauged but the other hydrolics work fine and the tractor moves like normal. oil level are fine

Can you feel anything engage when you use the clutch
for the pto?

I'm hoping one of the dealers jumps in here. You could also get ahold of a service manual which has a troubleshooting section.

have not had time to work on it i am going to see if the mid pto works or not.
i am going to order a service manual to. does the ck20 have one or more hydrolic pump?

Sounds like the overrun clutch is stuck in the open position. I have seen this on a ck20 before.

The PTO is mechanical engagement on the CK20HST, no hydraulics here. Single stage clutch with a overunning clutch in the transmission. If the tractor moves, there is power past the clutch.

There are several possibilities:
Engagement linkage came apart at a pin
Failed overruniing clutch
Failed shifter fork
A few others, but need a little more information...

Try to spin the pto shaft by hand with the clutch and lever engaged. With the tractor NOT running, the clutch pedal out, and the pto lever engaged, let us know if you can spin the pto shaft by hand. PLEASE do this with the tractor OFF and the key OUT of the ignition.
