I was looking at CK20's, and the dealer I was talking to told me to buy a CS2410 and forget the CK20 because it was being discontinued because its too underpowered for it's size and weight. Has anyone else heard this?

He also told me he would sell me a CK20 because he had 2 on the lot but he said I would regret buying the CK20 (he said he's had several issues with them) and if I bought the CS2410 I'd never look back.

I guess I'm a little baffled, the CK seems like a lot more tractor for (In my case) only a thousand dollars more. Any thoughts?

If that was Batchelders, you can take that to the bank. I would go with his recommendation any day

The ck20 is being discontinued because it does not meet the EPA tier 4 emissions. The ck20 is a compact tractor where the cs2410 is a sub compact (cut vs scut). The ck20 has proven to be a very solid tractor with very good lift capacity for for it's physical size. The ck20 will push more, pull more, lift more, is more stable on a hill, bigger bucket. The cs2410 has 2.5hp more making it a better mowing tractor. The cs2410 is a awesome little tractor but there are many situations that I would prefer the ck20 over the cs2410. I do have a cs2410 at home and it works great. I would have bought the ck20 but I needed the belly mower and Kioti does not make one for the ck20. Good luck.

I foresee Kioti puting 27 HP in the CK20 frame and rebranding it as a new model. Just a guess. But, that would be a pretty sweet tractor setup, especially if paired with a 3 range tranny.

I had a ck20 and it was / is a great little tractor. I bought a bigger tractor with more HP but pound for pound the ck20 was a stronger tractor. My only issue with it was the lack of a mid range. sometimes low was to slow and high was too fast. But all in all a great little tractor. I bought mine used and put over 700 hours on it in 3 years. The only issue I ever had with it was when I got off the wrong side and caught my pants leg on the loader controller and broke the part where it goes into the valve. The dealer fixed it with an upgrade for $65.00 while I waited.

I agree that would be a sweet little tractor.

Correct me if I'm wrong but its my understanding that tier 4 doesn't affect anything under 25 horse.

Correct. Under 25 HP already meets Tier 4 standards for that size engine.

Hey Dennis,

What can you tell me about the loader on the CT225 (it was obviously made for Bobcat by someone other than where Kioti gets theirs from) There are a couple new (sitting for two years) CT 225's here at a Bobcat dealer for 15k which I feel is a little high. Just wondering what kind of luck you've had with it? From the specs it looks like it will pick up about 10% more than the K130 on the Kioti

Mine has a Rhino built loader, tractor is a 2009 model. 2010 models and after have a Bobcat built loader. I have no problems/complaints with mine, but the Bobcat built loader is a little heavier duty and has better fit of the pivot pins so has less slop in the bucket. They will lift more than rated capacity, the rating is based on what the tractor can safely balance with load centered and on fairly level ground. If you don't follow instruction in the Operator manual regarding counter-weighting you are more likely to tip the tractor before doing any damage to the loader. It WILL lift more the specified.
@ 15k for a 225 (if equipped with R4 GP tires) with the current programs, dealer is not taking a great profit. His actual invoice from Bobcat + freight is more than that. He is using the rebate to cover remaining expenses and leave a little for profit. You might be able to get him to through in the dual rear remotes or some other dealer installed options if you work him a little. Remember "cash is King" and time is running short, Bobcat would like to have all inventory sold before end of 2013.
