CID Grapple

Does anyone have any experience with a CID grapple? I was at my dealer today and saw them, they looked to be heavy made and well worth the money. They have the 72" for $850, and a 48" that CID makes just for them for $600. Im looking at the 48" since its lighter and easier to maneuver in the woods I'm wanting to clean up.

I asked my dealer about a 3rd function for my 2538 and he said it was $1200 installed, and was a true 3rd function not a diverter valve. I cant decide if I want to save the $363 and get a kit from EA like I have seen others do on here or just pay the dealer and be guaranteed it will work since the grapple is so much cheaper.

I don't have a CID grapple but do have a set of their 48" forks rated at 4,000#. My forks have excellent build quality and I highly recommend them. I would expect their grapples to be just as good.

I also have a pair of the pallet forks from CID, they are very well made and have worked very well. Thats why I am tempted at the grapples they make, especially at that price.

I have the original Igland Log Grapple, made in Norway or Finland, IIRC. It is 360 pounds and does an outstanding job of hauling logs and such, boulders, etc. It's NOT cheap by any means, but it's virtually bulletproof.

I have their stump grapple. Very rugged and works well. I have really beaten on it digging and moving rocks, stumps, long tree trunks weighing over a thousand lbs. Have dug out stumps large enough that my TC40DA tractor can't pick them up. I can only slide or roll them. I use it to place logs on my bandsaw mill, move brush, pop out small saplings, and on and on. I find new things to do with it every day.
