Last Friday, Saturday, and this Monday we are having a Chuch Cleanup. We cleaned out a retention pond with 4 foot high and higher trees growing in it. I used the PT to mow the trees and grass and to haul a trailer up a hill to the dumpster. We filled a huge dumpster and then had to put almost another load in the parking lot. I will order a new dumpster this week and fill it up.

By pulling the trailer with the PT we saved dozens if not hundreds of wheel barrow loads up a steep hill. I have attached a few pictures.

What was most amazing was that I had 7 people signed up for Friday, and 20 for Saturday. We had 20 and 50 respectively.

I always feels good to accomplish something like that and have more folks show up than expected. :)

Best thing about being the machine operator at a community clean up is you get to sit and drive for most of the time while everyone around get to sweat and operate a shovel or rake...!!!

Yep! I also did not have to spend too much time coordinating the activites since I had to drive the tractor and nobody else knew how.

Below is what I put in the Church newsletter. The tremedous amount of work was of course in part due to the PT.

By any measure the Spring Cleanup was a tremendous success. We had 11 people scheduled for Friday, 20 for Saturday and 6 for Monday. We had 20 people show up Friday , 50 on Saturday, and 6 on Monday.

We cleaned out the retention pond, around the west parking lot, and the cemetery. We cut down two large dead trees in the west parking lot. We also put down lime in the cemetery and removed a stump. We fixed the fence south of the Sanctuary, and in the play ground. We fixed the sand box in the playground. We painted the library, the fellowship hall, and three and 1/2 bathrooms in the old education bldg. We did many tasks in JB such as new mirrors in the bathrooms, cover plates on the attic floor, cleaned the first floor and many other task. We put down gravel around the FLC AC units. We assembled robe closets in the Choir Room We put in a brick wall on the north side of the FLC. We washed many windows. We filled one dumpster and have another one ordered which we will fill from the remaining cuttings. Some task are still being worked on and will be completed in the next two weeks. We are sure we missed some tasks here, but you get the picture. We did an estimated $7000 worth of work in one weekend.

Even more importantly we experienced fellowship and support for our Church. We can't thank you enough for the support that we had for this project. It makes our efforts much more than worthwhile.

Awesome! Nice work. Which one of those friendly lookin' folks is YOU?

I've been out for a long time. Nice to come back and see a lot of familiar faces.
