Chipper on the Back of a BX22

I have lots of dead wood on my land that I want to clean up. my five acres are virgin forest and thick with the accumulation of branches that have fallen over time. I've been looking at a Woods Model 5000 PTO Chipper that I can put on the back of the BX when I pull the backhoe off. At $ 2,850.00 for the unit, it's not a cheap purchase so I was wondering if anyone has experience with this unit or something in the same range size-wise.

My Kubo dealer has a brand new one ready to go and tells me it works great on the BX series.

I posted my comments on that shredder/chipper elsewhere on this site. It's actually built by Bearcat who rates it for almost twcve the hp that Woods does. I use it on a 30 hp tractor which will smoke the belts if the unit jams up.
Feeding material into the hopper is not simple. The brush attachments to prevent ejection of material make it awkward to feed leaves.

Feeding smaller diameter branches via the hopper is semi-dangerous. If you feed them into the downside of the rotating hammermill, the branches will be drug in faster that you would believe. Although you won't get your hand pulled in, it will suck the material in fast enough to smack your arm on the hopper edge if you don't let go fast enough..

For some reason when feeding material via the chipper hopper, you feel a lot of vibration which over a long period can be unpleasant. The machine does a good job on materials within its range. If you're running a lot of material through it, you will have clear the area around the bottom frequently.

I'd check on a Bearcat for comparative pricing.
