I have had a Titan flail mower for several years now. It cuts OK and seems to be holding up (except for the well documented cracked top link tower brackets) OK.
I have noticed a lot of noise coming from the underside of the mower. I'm wondering what it could be? The bearings and seals seem to be in good order and the flail drum rotates smoothly. I'm thinking that the saw-toothed piece at the top of the mower cabinet that helps the recut may be loose. I need to do a more thorough inspection with mower up on jacks.
Any thoughts? Any of you out there have a few seasons on a similar mower? Mine is attached to my MF which handles it well. The mower has had its share of encounters with rocks and 2-3 inch limbs.
