checking chain oil

How do you check your chain oil in a 751 1997 bobcat

Have machine setting on level ground, then remove the pipe plug at front of the machine on the chain case, if oil is present at bottom of the plug or you can touch oil with tip of your finger bent at first knuckle oil level is OK.
